Safroman @ Passing Clouds

Love Life? Love Congolese Rumba!

Don’t miss… The High Priest of the Congolese Rumba… SAFROMAN

Following on from his amazing WOMAD 2010 debut, he will be performing this Saturday at “Passing Clouds, and if you didn’t go to Womad, this gig is unmissable for ‘Soukouss’ lovers. Burning the CD decks and keeping the dancefloor hot, will be DJs Wala Danga, Mr. K & Debbie Golt

Safro Manzangi  is the grand rhythm guitarist, song writer, composer singer, and arranger from DR Congo, resident in London. Known as the High Priest, he plays with the authority of a man who helped to create the new wave of Rumba Lingala in 80's Kinshasa.

As a rhythm guitarist, Safroman is of impeccable pedigree, sitting alongside the likes of Diblo Dibala, Dr. Nico or even the “Le Grand Maitre” – Franco – as an outstanding ambassador of Congolese Rumba… But he is not alone, and will be ably supported by a dream team of other well known musicians such as Fiston Lusambo (Zong Zing), Mongoley, Banko, Milles Baguettes, Janni
